Jacq Groves

Jacq Groves is currently enrolled in Columbia University's Visual Arts MFA program. They plan to graduate in May 2022. 
 
Jacq holds a B.A in Art and Biology from Grinnell College (‘09). Though now based in New York, they spent nearly the last decade immersed in New Orleans’ arts community after leaving their short but significant career in biological research in 2013. Their artwork is informed by play, experimentation, and speculative fiction. They create sculptures and installations that attempt to re-contextualize and reimagine life for those who defy taxonomic categorization and reductive binaries.
